        It was the best for time attack. Me and my brother used to try and beat each others fastest laps, down to milliseconds. You needed DK for speed, pinpoint accuracy, and work out best spots for mushrooms. Too much stuff going on in later ones. MK64 was good for lap time chasing too tho.

        No shame in that.
        I played multiple ones - first gen on the GB, then sometime on the GBA, then again on the DS and lastly a brief stint with X two or so years ago.
        Never got into it - I like the creature design and I like turn-based RPGs, but the mechanisms that govern these "tamer RPGs" don't really appeal to me.

        it's funny. I like pokemon, and I still like to watch the cartoon with daughter, but I've never actually played a proper pokemon rpg. I think thesedays I just don't agree with capturing wild creatures and training them to fight each other. Cant stand Monster Hunter either :-D
