What will the role involve?

We typically expect two reviews a month from our staff, completed using review codes we receive from publishers and, on occasion, personal collections. For this position we would also be looking at someone that has regular feature or column ideas to enhance our offering to our audience. Reviews have a generous ten day turnaround, and all team members receive payment for their contribution. We predominantly communicate via Slack, with all team members encouraged and welcome to participate.

What are the rates?

We are an enthusiast publication, but that doesn’t mean that you work for free. It isn’t a job, but more a hobbyist role in a team. Every month the team collectively receives over £600 in payments for their writing in the issue. This could be £30 for a feature to around £9 to £19 depending on the length of the review. Team members also receive a complimentary hard copy of each magazine we release with you as part of the core team.

What are we looking for?

We are looking for an exceptional individual that can bring some new energy, focus and creativity to the team. Someone forward-thinking, with an incredible imagination and a huge amount of passion and knowledge in the Nintendo scene. We also need someone that thrives under pressure and can manage their time effectively to fit around our magazine turnaround.
Ideally, you should:

  • Have excellent written communication skills
  • Be a creative thinker
  • Be able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Have exemplary time management skills
