I hope Mr Nintendo has written some more speeches.
Following Nintendo’s success at the both Geoff Keighley’s Game Awards and the more recent DICE Awards, there are more possible victories on the cards at BAFTA for the likes of the largely unanimously attributed GOTY: Breath of The Wild. We certainly think it was the Switch’s best title, as you can read about in the February issue of the printed magazine.
BAFTA, The British Academy Film Awards, announced the categories and nominations for their video game awards show this year, described by announcement live-stream host Julia Hardy as the “third pillar” of BAFTA, alongside film and television. It’s great to see video games and their creators the recognition they deserve as an artform, and I’m a sucker for these sorts of awards shows. The live-stream also featured IGN’s Alysia Judge, GameSpot’s Tamoor Hussain, and YogsCast’s Vidiots. You can watch it here.
Here is the list of all Nintendo games nominated, in their respective categories:
- Artistic Achievement – Breath of the Wild
- Best Game – Breath of the Wild
- Best Game – Super Mario Odyssey
