The first Switch app is going to be from one of Japan’s most popular media services.
An official Niconico app is set to be the very first native Nintendo Switch app when it releases in Japan this Wednesday, July 13th. It’ll be available via the eShop, and should work in any region – even though it’s only officially available to those with Japanese Switch accounts.
Niconico is a video sharing service akin to YouTube, but is mostly used by those in Japan and Asia. The website is the 8th most visited Japanese website, and has ~1.5 million premium subscribers alongside millions upon millions of free version users. An account is required to view videos, so make sure to grab one if you’re looking to grab the app.
