LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2 announced for Switch

Comically assembling later this year!

Warner Bros. Games got in touch with us today to announce the follow-up to LEGO Marvel Super Heroes, and it’s great news for Switch owners as it’ll be coming to the hybrid system later this year!

Creatively titled LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2, the game is a numbered sequel to the first, open-world Marvel-flavoured LEGO title and nothing to do with the more recent LEGO Marvel’s Avengers (which is set around the MCU) and brings together Marvel heroes and villains from different eras, realities and locations ripped from time and space.

Boasting an original storyline themed around Kang the Conqueror as you battle across time through Chronopolis, Ancient Egypt, The Old West, Sakaar and even New York City in 2099. As you’d expect in a LEGO title, there will be an abundance of Marvel characters to take control of with Cowboy Captain America in the past, Spider-Man 2099 in the future and your typical stable in between. A trailer for the game will be released on March 23rd, but until then we have this teaser to enjoy.

New features to the game include the ability to manipulate time, and my press release tells me that there will also be a four-player competitive “Super Hero Battling Mode”, whatever that is.

The game has a release date for the Xbox One, PS4 and PC versions of November 14th, with a vague “this holiday” for the Switch version. Hopefully it’s just Nintendo being pedantic and wanting to announce that date themselves.
