The feather in the cap for Nintendo’s big year.
Nintendo has given us a few updates on how the Switch and several games are selling. The Nintendo Switch itself managed to eclipse the Wii U and then some with a respectable 17.79m sold. Super Mario Odyssey continues to impress with a whopping 10.41 million copies to date which, with some questionable quick math, puts the game at just under a 60% attach rate, an impressive figure for the retired plumber.
Alongside the impressive sales of Odyssey we also got an update on Mario Kart 8 Deluxe which stands at 9.22m sales, more than the Wii U version managed in its lifetime, Zelda: Breath of the Wild currently sits at 8.48m sold and last but not least Splatoon 2 is sitting pretty at 6.02m sold.
Given how well this first year has been going for Nintendo it’s no surprise to see these figures and with Smash and Pokemon on the horizon things are looking good for the big N.
